Welcome YogaFundi Friends
I wanted to pay homage to my birthplace and my roots, which are deeply and firmly seeded in Africa, while still keeping with the age-old tradition of India and Yoga.
Yoga, (Yo-gaa), which is a Sanskrit word, translates to the union of mind, body and spirit. Through Pranayama (breath work) and Asana (postures), the union of Yoga manifests to become a physical practice of enlightenment.
The word, "Fundi," (pronounced Foon-dy), is derived from the Nguni tribe (Southern Africa), used to describe someone who has expertise in a particular field or vocation.
Nguni Group of Languages: umfundisi: a teacher. (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Bostwana, Namibia)
I am a spirited individual, whose love for Yoga, manifests through my commitment and passion toward the service of others.
I have been practising Yoga for more than a decade and completed my professional certification, in 2015 in Rishikesh, India.
My Yoga journey has been a profound and deeply personal experience. It has been a constant in my life and it is as a result of the spirit of Yoga that I have been able to evolve and to keep on striving for personal transformation and growth.
I love being able to share my Yoga joy and journey with others.
Namaste.
I tailor individual sessions, based on my clients' needs and goals, therefore I prefer to conduct private consultations, prior to the first Yoga engagement to discuss and ascertain what is required from sessions with me.
